ajb Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I have accepted a position as a research associate at the University of Luxembourg within the 'Unité de Recherche en Mathématiques'. The position comes with more responsability such as some teaching duties and supervision of students - undergraduate, masters and hopefully I can jointly supervise a PhD student. Exciting times ahead. 10
imatfaal Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Great News. Luxembourg is fun - can be quite disconcerting how the locals switch languages (most speak a minimum of three) - but I have really liked visiting there. Hope the Brexit destructors haven't caused you extra grief
ajb Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 Luxembourg is fun People tell me that the city is not much fun. Too small and not a lot going on. Hope the Brexit destructors haven't caused you extra grief Nothing has changed yet, and it is not clear if anything will or if it does, what it will change into. So no problems for a couple of years for sure.
DrP Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 (edited) Gratz - sounds like a great post! (Well deserved too! ) Edited June 30, 2016 by DrP
MigL Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Congrats ! You've often demonstrated a great demeanor and willingness to help here. I'm sure your undergrads and masters will appreciate you as much as we do.
Moontanman Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Congrats dude, sounds like an awesome opportunity!
Delta1212 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I must not be getting enough sleep because I initially read that you were going to have teaching duties and be "supervillain of students." This seems cool, too, though. Congratulations!

michel123456 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 You need a brand new car now. I guess you will understand my comment after a few days in Luxembourg. Congratulations!
ajb Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 michel123456, I will try to stick with the bus... which I know can get busy.
