imatfaal Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 The Atlas Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider has released data of a trillion or so proton proton collisions. You can download/access the 11 gigabytes of information at the CERN open data portal Basically you get the info from this when it was running at 8 terraelectronvolts So all the Speculators we get posting new models in the Speculations Forum can now empirically check their wacky ideas for the Higgs, Dark Matter, or new substructures beneath the Standard Model - and make sure the data back them up 4
StringJunky Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 My ZX Spectrum is working on it now... might take a while... 1
Strange Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) I'm sure they will be all over it, checking that their mathematical models match up. They might also find this handy summary of the standard model helpful: http://www.symmetrymagazine.org/article/the-deconstructed-standard-model-equation Edited August 1, 2016 by Strange 2
Sensei Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Cranks, Crackpots, and Speculators - this one's for you... You should pin this thread in Speculations forum section. They won't find it in Science News..
John Cuthber Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Cool- just what I needed; a really good random number generator.
