fishy1 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 any relativly simple way to make it? as my only source atmo is 3% contact lense cleaner, and that's expensive as hell.
YT2095 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 nope, and you`ll be very disappointed to note that making it is even more Expensive than hell! if a factory plant knocks the stuff out at their price, what chance have you got to make it cheaper? LOL and yes, I`ve looked into myself in the past, give up now, while you still have Cash in the bank, be happy with your 3%
akcapr Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 the stuff from the store is 3% and costs 79 per a pretty big bottle,
ecoli Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Is there a way of concentrated that amount? By perhaps freezing or boiling off the water/ H2O2 ?
Oxidizer Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 During all this year I've been working with H2O2 in research of his oxidation power and countless times I've been told to be really carefull with this stuff, the one I'm using is 30%w/v, about 8.8Molar, and seems to be really really expensive. If someone knows a non-expensive way to producing it just tell me .
YT2095 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 If someone knows a non-expensive way to producing it just tell me . didn`t you read post #2?
Lance Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Its pretty easy to purify it by freezing but not very efficient, and when I say not very I mean not at all. It's still entertaining though.
YT2095 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 using our search facility will answer ALL of these questions too, it`s not like this topic hasn`t been covered a few 100 times before *Yawn*
5614 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Here: http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5804&page=1 And we came to the same conclusion that YT did in post #2.... well, I spose we went into a few pages more details and sidetracks...
Oxidizer Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 The last sentence of my post was ironic, of course I've read post#2, because of that reason I've put that icon ( ). It was Just an irony.

budullewraagh Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 so, working on organic peroxides, are we? dont die or anything
fishy1 Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 so, working on organic peroxides, are we? dont die or anything *gasp* i wouldn't do anything of the sort.

I have a saline soln in an aerosol that was for contact lenses, who`d have thought salt water would cost nearly a fiver!
