Wouldn't the world be awesome if all people living therein were attractive and brilliant?

My solution

1. Take 1000 fine people - tall, handsome specimen of good character and ancestry, possessing intellectual brilliance of some sort.

2. Lock them somewhere, on an island maybe.

3. Make them breed. Assign a mate to every one from among them and each pair would have ten children.

4. Choose only two from every ten children. First choose the brilliant children from among them. Repeat for several generations. Then, from the brilliant descendants, start choosing the most handsome ones and continue the process for several generations.

5. The end result is an attractive, bright and resourceful nation.

Genetic diversity is the best protection against extinction; more tools in the tool bag to handle more problems that may arise.

Can we substitute "well-educated" for "attractive"? That way we don't have to wait for generational changes, we can solve more problems, and work with the population we already have.

You just have to put up with some folks who don't fit your ideal of "attractive". To me, smart and rational is sexy as hell.

We already have a better world, and it is growing better all the time, regardless of eyewitness news reports. News is mostly sensational, to attract viewers, kind of what the Romans did with gladiators in arenas. Powerful people don't want all the attention when they do unpopular things. However, capitalism has a fatal flaw, it is working to reduce prices and will succeed so well that prices will reduce to almost zero. The reason is automation.

An industrial robot manufacturer has been producing robots at 50 per day in a lights-out factory since 2001, almost a quarter million from then until now. Their suppliers will automate, similarly all the way back to mines with lights-out operations; no one will be needed and prices will fall. Automation will provide food, clothing, shelter and medical care.

Wikipedia, Post Capitalism, Transition Forces

The rise of income inequality, repeating cycles of unemployment and inflation, and capitalism’s contributions to global warming had led both economists and philosophers to begin seriously considering post-capitalistic societies. Post-capitalism is expected to arise with further advances in automation and information sharing – both of which cause production costs to approach zero.[1]

Hopefully we don't screw it up.

Didn't the Nazis try something like this? And how did that end? The interesting thing about history is you could learn a lot from it.
