Obnoxious Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I personally got for my mother a card and some flowers. How about you guys? (Of course, as the ignorant American, I'll just go ahead and assume Mother's Day is international and whomsoever does not celebrate it does not love their mother). Oh..and to the mothers that are here...umm...Good job...

RedAlert Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Oh, and I'm going to take her out to dinner. Funny, we do all the good stuff for mom on this day, and then after this day...we forget her.
YT2095 Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Funny, we do all the good stuff for mom on this day, and then after this day...we forget her. that`s not strictly true of all though. I see my Mother as and when possible, and I love her dearly and am not ashamed to admit it (you only ever have ONE Mother). as for mothers day, it`s not here yet in the UK, it`s a different date, but it`ll probably be a card and a small gift (a Plant or Book token).
Pangloss Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I bought my mom a "No Spin Mom" coffee mug from Bill O'Reilly.com. She's a Democrat and we often argue about BOR so she'll get a real hoot out of it. Either that or disown me.
coquina Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 My mom is no longer living, so I put some flowers on her grave. However, my daughter remembered me. She sent me a basket with fruits, nuts and gormet cheeses. Yum!

I am talking about the new generation.
Callipygous Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 i got my mom a card written in spanish, and wrote underneath "i couldnt find the words myself, but i felt this card came close." (my mother doesnt know any spanish)

Obnoxious Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 According to Google, it's mother's day! And only the American holidays are offical!
Auburngirl05 Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I got her a card and candy, it always amazes me how mothers can act like even the smallest gestures really touch them. I'm glad there's a holiday for them. Just out of curiosity, when is Mother's Day in the UK?

RedAlert Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 aaaaahhhhh!! that was 2 months ago and i still haven't got her anything!! any ideas for a 2 month overdue mother's day present??!!! Gosh! Man you are stuck. Even Mensa can't help you anymore, but I am sure Densa can.
Pangloss Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Anyone looking for a good movie to watch with mom should check out Spanglish, which is just out on DVD. My wife and I watched it the other night and were in stitches. Very funny but still "family" kind of movie, and it has a nice "thanks mom" angle.
AzurePhoenix Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 We got my great aunt "Meet the Fockers." She loved it. My mom's a shutterbug, so we got her picture CDs and a memory card, and a photo album. Then she yelled at us cuz the pillows weren't fluffed enough and the house smelled like Tobasco *Sniff*

Nevermore Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 I can beat that! I've had 3 this week! (Being an american, I'm legaly required to have at least 1 heart attack a year to keep up our country's image.)
AzurePhoenix Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Oops, I guess I'm 19 heart attacks behind schedule. Better get to Jack in the Box!!!
Auburngirl05 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Oops, I guess I'm 19 heart attacks behind schedule. Better get to Jack in the Box!!! Make sure you go through the drive-thru so you don't have to subject yourself to exercise by walking up to the counter!
