I'm stuck there too.

Actually for me this one was kinda easy. Right click and see if there was an option that wasnt there before: "Scratch The Surface" hint hint. If you need to go to the previous window to compare.

Moosie, I'm on the same level, and I was wondering if there was a way to see the actual PHP code and not it's output, in other words, the page before the PHP script runs. That would tell you the answer.

Definantly no, can you imagine what kind of security issues that would raise if people had access to the source code?

Well yes, but I had heard of someone doing it, which was why I was wondering. Which brings me back to my original problem - being stuck.

I passed the hook but when I try to submit the proof I get this message. Can any one help!

I'm getting the same thing. I've done it twice tryig to see if I fooked up somewhere but I cant find anything.

On a different note: I'm still stuck on apprentice 3, can somebody give me a hint?

is that the level where you have to enter a password or the tricky level if its the tricky level a hint could be compare the other address and see what is different then look at the level 3 address because sometimes it is better to go BACK then forward

or if that doesnt help heres a spolier http://www.dievo.org:82/apprentice/level3/

but if its the level with the password then yes i need help to i have tried to save the swf file but it doesnt seem to work

GRRRAH. I finally got level 9 on apprentice. I was doing the right thing the whole time, I was just having random syntax errors and not using telnet correctly. stupid minor details :-D

Posted

the problem with lvl 9 is I know no thing about telnet !!

what should I do?

is there any lesson or some thing ?

Posted

I was referring to LOGIC in order to help him with level nine, but... thanks for the information?

For those of you who have completed level nine, can't you see the irony/humor in that statement?

Sorry I am late

WINDOWS XP

I read some lessons but what ever i do i get error

Microsoft Telnet> o http://www.dievo.org 82

Connecting To http://www.dievo.org...Could not open connection to the host, on port 82:

Connect failed

what is wrong with this syntax ?!

I have putty.exe but I don't know how to use it

I don't think there's anything wrong with your syntax... You could try variatons of http://www.dievo.org or http://www.dievo.org (that's what worked for me) or dievo.org - just make sure your "host" field matches later on (you'll get there eventually, that's actually a hint if you think about it).

I use the telnet program CRT. I too have XP, so it should work with your computer as well, but I don't have a link. It's free, though - google for CRT telnet download or some such thing and it should appear. Are you logged in as admin? That might also affect the telnet'ing. You're going about this the right way, just play with it until it works.

Hitting enter twice submits it.

This one won't work, but run it anyway. Scan the message given for the reason behind the error. What does it say?

[hide]It should say something about a malformed header. The header is the thing you're faking, not just the referer. What do you think that means?[/hide]

I'm at this same level, and I've never used telnet before.

But before I learn, I'm wondering: why do I need it? every other challenge I've gotten through with a bit of HTML knowledge, some JS, and ALL WITHIN my browser (IE, heh) or a simple text file.

Are they really jumping outside of those two apps?

<complain> why do this to me now! I'm doing so well!</complain>
