calbiterol Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Same here. I highly recommend FireFox. I don't know how I got by with IE before. I hate IE now, especially for it's lack of PNG support and it's substandard capabilities.
TheChosenOne Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Well i did level ten basicly the same way i did level 9. Thx for all da help

djblackdrago Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I had already gotten past that when I didnt find an edit button....but now im stuck on novice 8.....

1veedo Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I had trouble signing up too. I think I gave up and never tried again.
albertlee Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 After finish the Hook, where can we post the proof?? I cant find the wargame-dialog.
calbiterol Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 calbiterol' date=' does your clue for Novice level 2 about the indians mean something like this: [edited out to prevent spoilers] Well, you got the first part right. But the rest has nothing to do with the version number. Rather, something that happens when you talk smack to the indians.
Dak Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 he, that was a great clue. Im stuck on novice 4, where you have to give the server archetecture. can someone give me a clue about how i could find out the server archetecture.
Aeternus Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Well you know (or if you dont, its easy to find out with it) what OS/Distro they are using. Find out the architectures that that distro supports and try a few . Its probably sent somewhere as part of the data (my apache server does, on the 404 errors etc but this doesnt) but probably easier to just try a few (there arent that many).
Dak Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 aha, finally. id already tried that, but it wasnt on the first two lists of archetecture types that i found (third time lucky) does anyone know how the archetecture could be found out rather than just guessed?
calbiterol Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Finally beat novice! When I got past the level I was stuck on, I felt like banging my head against a table. *DUH!*
calbiterol Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 And no, I got really frustrated with that level, I must have gone through around five (!!!) lists before finally finding one that had the architecture on there. I couldn't find any other way.
calbiterol Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Albertlee: You have to register as a user to get the submit proof dialogue.
rocketboy Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I'm in mind6 of hook and so far I just *SPOILER* view source and it's written right in there. */SPOILER*Am I supposed to be doing something more, inovative to solve these, or is this just because its the beginning? -JB
rocketboy Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Alright, finished hook. That was pretty fun, a bit repetitive but I'm definately going to start Apprentice. Now on lvl 3 apprentice...having some trouble but I will prevail!
calbiterol Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 You have to register to get it to appear. Wait 'till you get to neophyte. Then it becomes a real challenge.
rocketboy Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Can anyone plz give me a hint as to apprentice lvl 4...or, level 3 password part. The one that says you don't need shockwave. Nevermind, I got it I was looking in the wrong place before. Wow I love these games I'm addicted!
calbiterol Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Has anyone else started neophyte? I can't get past the first level - well, I think I know a way, but I'd rather not invade the system...
rocketboy Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 What's the difference between the server's IP and the local IP, and how do you find the local one? (I'm doing novice lvl 2)
calbiterol Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Server's IP is also known as the external IP. That's the address that your computer's browser looks for - the "street address" for the server, so to speak. The local IP is the location of the server relative to it's router (if that makes any sense). It's the path another server (or service, hint hint) would take to get to the computer (server) that the page is stored on. There's a bunch of questions on that level already in this thread. Read the whole thing, you should uncover some info on it.
rocketboy Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Makes sense, thanks. Do I need a special program or tool that allows me to 'ask' the external ip what the local one is? I've read every post and I must say the indian clue isn't making any sense right now...
calbiterol Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Think of some american indian tribes. Now think of server software. Alternatively, we could play wheel of fortune. Category is "same name." There are 101 letters in the puzzle, and 4 contestants.
