How to imporve my english

In fact, i am not a native speaker of English.I come form Hong Kong.

 

 

For my English level, the skills of reading and writting are better than listening and speaking .

 

 

I got horrible marks in the IELTS which was posted on youtube ,especially listening.(actually, I never do practice of IELTS of speaking ,reading ,and

writting)In addition ,i failed an exam on a HongKong public examination,yes,the subject is English.

 

How could I solve that problem?

By far the most effective way is to find a native English speaking girlfriend/boyfriend. You learn to speak by needing to express yourself.

Tune to television news as often as you can. Some channels use personnel chosen by their better-than-typical pronunciation/enunciation.

It depends on how old you are. The older you get the more difficult it gets to learn a new language (learn it well)

I can tell you what worked for me (english is not my native lanuage) and worked really well.

I was droped into a public american school by my parents when I was in my teens. I hated them for it, I was an outsider, couldn't speak a word in english. During school hours I was reading books im my native language which drove my teachers nutts. Eventually TV took over my reading (I had acess only to american TV) and after about 3 months I started to communicate pretty well with my friends in school - I was pissed but had no choice. After about 6 months I spoke and wrote pretty well, after a year and a half I was indistinguishable from the natives. After 2,5 years I had problems with pronounciation in my native language which lasted about 3 months when I came back. It wasnt a real problem but people could hear that I have traces of english in my speach. I'm in my 40's now and obviously I lost the perfect american accent I had but I retained the english language skills on a level that I can easly communicate. All the credit for this goes to my parents. The answer to your question is: The easiest way to learn a new language (well) is to put youreself into a situation in which you have no choice but to learn it.

Stay here for a few months and you will get used to English.
